Le Creux-des-Biches is a tiny hamlet nestled in the Franches Montagnes in the canton of Jura. It is surrounded by big fir trees as well as open fields, a wide sky and a lot of horses and cows.
The old trainstation has been repurposed a long time ago and is now home to people and animals such as horses, chickens and a big group of cats. For our cat Yuki it will actually be a homecoming – she was born in Creux-des-Biches. It is also the home of Leonie’s mother and where the two of us met each other.
A beautiful growing Permaculture garden lays in the back of the property and brings a beautiful and big variety of vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers. A guest house on the other side hosts groups that come for vacation, courses of all sorts or Time Outs.
We both plan to not only life in Le Creux-des-Biches but to also work there. Samuel is first and foremost going to take the responsibility of the garden while Leonie plans to bring her social projects with kids in nature to life.
The spot for our new home

Our desired building spot lays at the very end of the property; the way to there leads trough the garden. The little piece of land is for the most part unused – sometimes the four horses get to “weed” there a bit. But it is technically agricultural land. So officially it is not supposed to be built on. We are very curious – and of course hopeful! – if we can anyway follow trough with our plan. Any updates on that will be posted in the blog.
